The Pave-Stone Store Is the Smart Choice for Government Organizations

Today, many smaller communities in Oklahoma such as Muskogee, Okmulgee, Henryetta, Grove, Collinsville, and Claremore are getting smarter. They are in the process of allocating some of their federal funds to beautify their downtown areas with Pavestone© products for use on their city streets, retaining walls, and paver sidewalks to name a few.

The Pave-Stone Store of Oklahoma understands that budgeted dollars need to go a long way with city and state government. Helping to save money while providing a superior product is no problem.

For the health and beautification of any downtown area, the Pave-Stone Store is Oklahoma’s #1 dealer of all Pavestone© products to revitalize small downtown communities.

Serviceability

Pavestone© offers strength, beauty, and the ultimate in serviceability. For example, a well landscaped Pavestone© walkway or a paver covered road can have individual stones or small sections easily lifted and removed to repair underground waterlines etc. When the necessary repairs are complete, the exact same stones (use a picture here) are simply replaced where they were lifted from with minimal effort. This type of repair can be made with fewer road closures, which is a huge cost and convenience factor—with half the manpower and machinery—not to mention the time factor that it would take to repave a city street or sidewalk if Pavestone© products were not used.

Stronger, Longer Lasting, and More Flexible

Pavestone's© paver products are designed to be between 2.5 to 3 times stronger than your average city street. City streets which are rated with a compressive strength of approximately 3,500 PSI. Pavestone© paver products are rated to be a minimum of twice as strong (8000 PSI).

Pavestone© also stands behind their product! The products are made with the color 100% thru-out the product, so colors won’t fade away or wear off, which means that many years down the road, taxpayer dollars are still working for them as our communities continue to benefit from great looking streets and roads.

Concrete will always eventually start to crack, spall and break up, and the same is true of asphalt as it starts to dry out and become brittle. But a properly installed Pavestone© system will not easily suffer the same fate as it is designed to move and "breath" with its environment. Stamped and stained concrete will always crack and fade and the exact colors cannot always be predicted, whereas paver colors can be seen and chosen before they go in. Concrete has no warranty against cracking, but Pavestone© products carry an extended warranty. Concrete cannot be repaired without noticing the repair marks, but pavers can usually be replaced without seeing much evidence of the repair. Concrete cannot be replaced without major construction, but pavers can—offering more flexibility in design and maintenance.

Economical and Environmentaly Friendly

Pavestone© (SRW) segmental retaining walls are very cost effective when you look at their very long life cycles. Their value is even more extensive when the wall heights exceed 4 feet and more. Pavestone© walls become more cost advantageous as wall height increases. This is due to their design, in that Pavestone© walls do not require the increasingly large and very expensive buried formed footings that poured-in-place concrete walls require as the get taller. This savings that our system offers can go into other needed projects.

Traditional paving methods such as asphalt and poured-in-place concrete surfaces were designed to be virtually impermeable. With the rapid expansions in communities, the increased paved areas increase flooding and sediment control problems. Installing Pavestone’s© permeable pave stones is the solution. These eco-friendly pave stones provide an equilateral matrix of surface opening designed to capture amounts of surface water runoff and infiltrate it to the drained paving section. In turn, the end results are attenuation of runoff, increase in water quality and mitigation of pollutant’s impact on the environment. With an average compressive strength of 4000 psi, Pavestone’s© permeable pave stones are ideal for overflow parking areas of parks, historical sites, institutions, and universities.

Permeable paving is a paving system that has a more pervious area than traditional asphalt and poured concrete pavement and allows for the increased infiltration of rainwater back into the ground. Allowing rainwater to locally infiltrate with a permeable paving system can decrease the amount of runoff leaving the site by up to 90%, facilitate pollutant removal, help to control streambed and riverbank erosion, provide for ground water recharge, and create a more aesthetically pleasing landscape. In some cases, it can even eliminate the requirement for underground pipes and conventional storm water retention / detention systems.

Some Recent Government Projects

  1. City of Tulsa Brookside
  2. Central Senior’s Center at 6th & Peoria
  3. University of Tulsa
  4. Reservoir Hill — On this project, our pricing was compared to standard cast in-place concrete walls. After extensive research and a thorough cost analysis, the city of Tulsa choose to go with an engineered Pavestone© (SRW) segmental retaing wall. We provided highest quality products, designed a special color blend for the neighborhood association's approval (at no additional cost) and still saved the city approximately 15%. On a large scale project like this, 15% turned out to be sizable savings!
